The government of Uttar Pradesh is planning to give tablets and smartphones to the students of Uttar Pradesh. Very soon, free tablets and smartphones will be distributed by the state government to the students and workers of the state. The preferences of the students and the beneficiary will also be taken care of at the time of phone distribution. The previous government had also distributed laptops to the youth and in the same direction the present state government is also planning to distribute laptops and tablets as well as smartphones. Free smartphone mobile phones will be distributed to about 700000 to 1 lakh students in various training programs including graduate, post graduate, diploma, skill development, paramedical and nursing in the state.
This meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which the plan to distribute mobile phones to the youth in the direction of technical empowerment has been approved. The state government said that it is going to educate and make the youth self-sufficient, for which distribution of tablets is very necessary.
About ₹ 3000 crore will be spent on this scheme. He said that under the scheme, youth of other categories would also be included in this scheme. The priority of the beneficiary category in tablet distribution will be determined in a phased manner.
Youth registered on Seva Mitra portal will also get benefit
State government spokesperson said that youths registered on the Seva Mitra portal of the Skill Development Department would also be given tablets or smart phones. The youth registered on the portal are trained for plumber, carpenter, nurse, electrician, AC mechanic.
Help will be available in online class and application
Spokesperson of the State Government said that the students would be benefitted in online classes with the help of tablets and smart phones. Apart from this, it will be easy for the youth to apply for various government and non-government jobs, get coaching, training. He told that technical and educational institutions are also distributing teaching materials, tutorials online to their students. The facility of data access through internet connectivity can also be availed at affordable rates. He told that even after studies, youth will be able to use tablets and smart phones in government or private sector jobs and self-reliance schemes.
