Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a very important pmgdisha scheme to make the youth literate. The main objective of this scheme is to make rural population self-reliant in digital education. Along with the knowledge of the youth of the rural environment, the skill also has to be improved with pmgdisha, so that it can make its significant contribution in the governance of the administration. Through pmg disha scheme works are being done to increase digital literacy to the poor and under this scheme one man from each family will be selected in digital literacy. All these programs will be done under the Digital India Mission, as the Prime Minister also has a dream. More than 6 crore rural areas will be literate through this scheme. Almost through this scheme, the youth of rural areas will be trained and expert in running computers, so that they can do their daily work very easily, along with making a living. The scheme has been formulated keeping in mind the SC ST Minority BPL Women with Disabilities and Backward Classes.

Appreciation of Digital Literacy

To make a person digitally literate, so that he/she can operate digital devices (like Tablets, Smart phones etc) send and receive emails & browse Internet for information and undertake digital payment etc.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Nominated digitally illiterate person from every eligible rural household.

Age : 14 to 60 years

 

Course Duration

20 Hours (Minimum 10 Days and Maximum 30 Days)

 

Medium of Instruction

Official Languages of India

 

Fee

NIL

 

Place of Learning

The eligible households can nominate one person from their family. The selected person to get themselves enrolled under this programme in a nearest Training Centre/ Common Service Centre (CSC).

 

Evaluation

Independent external evaluation will be conducted by a National level certifying agency like NIELIT, NIOS, IGNOU, HKCL, ICTACT, NIESBUD etc.
