KVPY is a acronym of Kishore
Vaigyanik Protshan yojana which is given by the Science and technology
department of India. This Kishore Vaigyanik Protshan Yojana" (KVPY) is launched
in 1999 for encouraging students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up
research career in Science. Basic objective of the KVPY scholarship is to find
out and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in the filed
of research in science. Under the KVPY scheme government offer fellowship and
contingency grant for selected KVPY Fellows up to the pre Ph.D. level or 5 years
whichever is earlier. This scholarship is managed by the Indian Institute of
Science, Bangalore and set up a Management Committee and a National Advisory
Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation.

Selected student is eligible to receive the KVPY Fellowship
up to pre-PhD level or 5 years whichever is earlier.
Renewal of scholarship / renewal of the scholarship will be
done on the basis of good academic record in current year. Candidates are
required to score at least 60% marks for renewal of the scholarship.
The fellowship for the students selected under the stream
SA/SX/SB will be started after the XII Standard/ (+2) / I year UG, only if they
pursue an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that are, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics,
Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology,
Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences,
Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical
Sciences, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Environmental Science or
Geophysics.
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility criteria
for Stream SA – students must be registered in 11th class with science stream in
academic year 2021 and having more then 75% marks in math and science subject
in high school level they are eligible for Stream SA program.
fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be
activated only if they join an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences
(B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2021 after having secured
a minimum of 60% (50%for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in
the XII standard/(+2) Board Examination.
Stream SX – students of 12th with science stream can fill
application form who will going UG program in Basic Sciences namely
Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int.
M.S.
Stream SB
Students enrolled in the 1st year of undergraduate program in
Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to
B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int.
M.S. during the academic year.
All students who are perusing their graduation program or
they are intend to peruse their UG progam through
distance mode or correspondence course they can fill application form.
Selection procedure: selection procedure will be based on
through the written examination followed by personal interview test. Written test will be conducted in Hindi and
English language.
All eligible candidates who will be declared qualified in the
aptitude test they will be call for personal interview test.
There is no prescribed syllabus of this examination. However,
students are tested for the syllabus up to class X/XII/1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int.
M.Sc./M.S. as applicable.
