The Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has
made changes in the recruitment process. Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services
Selection Commission has done away with the obligation of preliminary
examination. Now the preliminary examination has been abolished in all the
recruitment. Preliminary eligibility test (PET) will be conducted separately
and on the basis of this, candidates can participate in the main examination.
Key information about PET
The PET examination will be conducted twice a year. Under
the new arrangement, the Commission will conduct PET preliminary eligibility
examination twice a year for the recruitment of Group C of various departments.
The candidate has to take the exam only once. However, to improve the marks
obtained in the PET, one can participate in the recruitment examination. There
will be no maximum limit for such.
What will be the exam pattern
In the PET exam, the candidates will be tested
for general knowledge, current affairs, Hindi language knowledge, logical
ability and high school level general mathematics. Applicants in PET will be
awarded scores on a percentage basis. The score obtained in PET will be valid
for 3 years. Candidates for the next level ie Main Examination, Skill
Examination, Physical Examination will be selected on the basis of the highest
score obtained in PET.
What will be the cut off?
In the main examination, only the score obtained in PET will
be made the basis and based on this, the candidates will be selected. The
shortlisting of main examination will be based on the prescribed cutoff of
percentile obtained in PET. In addition, 15 times the number of advertised
positions, applicants will be shortlisted based on the decreasing order list
based on the percentile received in PET.
The syllabus on the subject of the main examination will be
decided after the approval of the government in consultation with the concerned
department. Uttar Pradesh Service Selection Commission has approved the change.
This process will also save the time of the candidates and
they can prepare for the main examination in a better way. The new system will apply
