25 questions on general topics, 20 questions on electrical topics, 20 questions 4 on electronics, 20 questions on communication and 15 questions on mechanical topics.
For the post of Section Engineers:
25 questions on general topics, 15 questions on computer science, 15 questions on electronics & communication, 15 questions on mechanical, 15 questions on electrical and 15 questions on civil topics.
The question paper will be of objective type with multiple answers. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Kannada and the duration of the examination will be for 2 hours with 100 questions. The question paper will also contain writing one paragraph / sentence in Kannada which is compulsory and this will be evaluated at the time of verification of documents only in respect of
candidates shortlisted for document verification / Medical Fitness Test. Those who have not reproduced the Kannada passage in the space provided in the OMR sheet or those who fail to read & write the Kannada passage at the time of verification of documents, will be disqualified irrespective of his/her position in the merit list prepared on the basis of the written test.
